The NEUTRAL SPACE is a dark, empty, magical space containing only a chair and a lightbulb, where Titus voices his thoughts and provides the viewing audience with insight into the action through direct address to the camera. Every episode of the show opened and closed in the Neutral Space. Filmed entirely with steady-cam in black and white, the Neutral Space represents Titus's mind.
KEN'S HOUSE first appeared in Ep. 101 "Dad Is Dead." It is the home of a drinking, womanizing, cheap, mean, bigoted, cantankerous man played by Stacey Keach.
CHRISTOPHER TITUS' HOUSE. Where he lives with his wife, Erin, and later, Amy, Erin's rebellious teenage niece.
DAY ROOM
MENTAL HOSPITAL. In Season 2, Episode 5, Titus and the gang attend his mom's competency hearing at the mental hospital. Ken wants to keep her locked up, but Titus has a change of heart after learning that her letters to him were discarded by Ken.

ERIN'S PARENTS HOUSE. In "The Perfect Thanksgiving", Ep. 206, we discover that Erin's Parents are just as dysfunctional as Titus's.
"The Last Noelle", Ep. 209, takes place at a FUNERAL HOME, where Titus attends the funeral of an old, abusive girlfriend.
Episode 211, "When I Say Jump", Titus and gang go BASE jumping off a bridge, and things go wrong.
Built on a soundstage at CBS Radford Studios and filmed entirely in front of a live studio audience. The upper roadway and railing of the bridge was filmed adjacent to the understructure, and the top and bottom portions were composited in post production.
Episode 301: "Racing In The Streets". Titus gets involved with illegal street racing to pay for Erins grad school tuition.
In Episode 305, "Grad School", Erin needs Christophers help when she visits a FOSTER HOME filled with delinquent, troubled teens.
"Into Thin Air", Episode 311. Titus and Dave go snowboarding and end up first stuck upside down in a tree, and then on an icy ledge. To keep the snow from melting, the stage at Radford was refrigerated to near freezing and the studio audience was instructed to wear winter wear for the live show.
In "The Session", Erin convinces Titus and the family to take part in a group therapy session for her psychology class.
When Titus discovers that the session is being observed by her classmates through a secret window, Titus throws a chair through the glass.
The artwork graphic was printed on One-Way Perforated Window Film allowing cameras to film on both sides simultaneously. A subtle change in lighting allowed observers to be seen behind the glass.
Episode 319, "Insanity Genetic, Part 1"
On the airplane home from his mother's funeral, Titus suffers a nervous breakdown after smelling a cooked turkey dinner, remembering his visits to the mental hospital to see his mom, and going laughing mad after reading a magazine article on mental illness being genetic. This, along with several comic misunderstandings, lead to Titus, Dave, Erin, and Ken to be arrested on conspiracy to commit a terrorist act.

Episode 320, "Insanity Genetic, Part 2"
Titus, Dave, Erin, and Ken are arrested on conspiracy to commit a terrorist act. While being interrogated by the FBI and pleading their innocence, Dave, Erin, and Ken are given an option: either all four of them go to prison or the three are let go and Titus is put in a mental hospital for three months.
Five identical INTERROGATION ROOMS were built and lined up in front of the audience so the interrogations of all five characters could be intercut live to the studio audience. Titus escapes from his locked room through an air duct, but crashes through the ceiling of the conference room as his family agree to have him committed. This was unintentionally the final episode of TITUS filmed, as the show was cancelled following this episode.
TITUS HIGH PERFORMANCE is the car shop Titus owns and is where he is living out his dreams of being a custom car builder.
INT. POLICE STATION. Episode 103, "Dave Moves Out", takes place at the local police station when Ken has his son, Dave, arrested for taking his VCR. Each episode of TITUS required an entirely new "Home Base Set" where all the principal action for that episode would take place.
Episode 307, "The Trial" takes place in the COURTROOM where Titus's mom, Juanita, (played by Connie Stevens), is on trial for the murder of her husband. Titus tries to save her from jail time by defending her, but the trial ends in a hostage situation and Titus ends up on the LEDGE outside the judge's chambers.
The script for "Into Thin Air" went thru many iterations leading up to show night. The set concepts, therefore, were constantly being revised.
